FATAL EARLY MORNING TRAILER FIRE
PEARL RIVER, LA - Wednesday, October 28, 2009: Shortly after 1am, St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 and Pearl River Police units responded to Boyet St. for a travel trailer on fire.  Units found trailer fully involved with fire which was quickly placed under control.  During the process of overhaul and further extinguishment, the male victim was found.  Further investigation and cause of fire is still ongoing in cooperation with the Louisiana State Fire Marshall's office.  Residence near by sustained minor damage and no other injuries occurred.  
PEARL RIVER, LA - Wednesday, November 4, 2009: Just after 6:30pm, St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 units responded to the 200 block of Maverick Run for a residential structure fire.  Chief arrived on scene followed shortly by apparatus from Station 111 and 112. Chief reported a trailer home with flames showing from the front.  Initial attack was made moments after units arrived on scene and the fire was placed under control.  All residents escaped the home after several attempts to extinguish the fire.  Cause of the fire appears to be a cooking accident that this time.

PEARL RIVER CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
On Friday, December 11, 2009 the Town of Pearl River gathered at the Town Hall on Willis Alley for prayer, speeches, and songs from students of two area schools.  St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 personnel were on hand for a tradition of handing out apples, oranges and bananas.  The event concluded with an appearance by Santa and a fireworks show.
