About Us

St. Tammany Fire Protection District #11 was founded in 1975 in the town of Pearl River, Louisiana. Beginning with only one fire engine and a few members, it has grown since then to include three stations, ten fire apparatuses, and over 40 volunteers and paid firefighters. Here are some statistics for our department:

What area do we protect?

Fire District #11 serves most of the incorporated areas  of the Town of Pearl River, as well as the immediate unincorporated area. We also cover Interstate 59 from mile marker 3 to mile marker 7. Due to an automatic mutual aid agreement with Fire District #7, we also respond to incidents on Interstate 59 from mile marker 7 to the Mississippi state line.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What does the fire department respond to?

We respond to all types of incidents on a regular basis. These include, but are not limited to:

· Hazardous Material Leaks / Spills

· Public Assists

· Burn Complaints

If you are interested in volunteering with our department, you can fill out an online application here, or you can come by either our central station located on Pine Street Extension or our station on Highway 3081 and pick up an application. We are always looking for hard-working, highly motivated people to help serve the community. We offer an Auxiliary program for those under the age of 18. PIAL Information Download

On August 1, 2005, Fire District No. 11’s public protection classification changed from a Class 3 to a Class 2. All properties inside Fire District No. 11 are now eligible for Class 2 insurance rates. Please download the following information to give to your homeowner’s insurance company.
