River Flooding
Because of an increase of heavy rainfall through out the southern Mississippi and southeast Louisiana region, the Pearl River, West Pearl River and rivers that feed off of these two portions of the Pearl River went to flood stage, out of its banks and to record levels. The Pearl River crested at about 19.2 feet which puts it at the 6th highest that the river has ever been. This is the 6th highest level in roughly 20 years. No major damage was reported but we urge citizens to use caution when cleaning up, many hazards exist including wild animals and sharp objects.
