Emergency Vehicle Driver's Training
PEARL RIVER, LA - Apr. 24 - 25, 2009:  St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 is committed to safety of our personnel as well as the community. St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 personnel recently attended a two day Emergency Vehicle Driver's Training which consisted of one day classroom instruction and one day actual driver's training and obstacle course.  Personnel were presented information on how to operate apparatus in a safe manner during daily operations and emergency responses.







H1N1 "Swine Flu"

MINOR MVC, HWY 41 NEAR PLANET STORAGE
PEARL RIVER, LA: Saturday, May 2, 2009: St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 units responded to Hwy 41 near the Planet Storage for a two vehicle motor vehicle crash.  As seen in the photos, the pickup truck stood up very well after being rear ended by a compact car when traffic stopped ahead of the pickup truck.  One patient was transported via Acadian Ambulance as precaution and two others declined to be transported for further evaluation at a hospital.







HEAD ON COLLISION: HWY 1090/I-12 OVERPASS
PEARL RIVER, LA: Tuesday, May 12, 2009: At around 6:30pm St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 units along with Acadian ambulance and state police responded to Hwy 1090 at the I-59 overpass for a head on collision. The crash involved a red van which was headed towards Pearl River and the red pickup truck which was headed the other direction. As pictured, both vehicles sustained major damage.  Both drivers were transported via ambulance to a hospital for further evaluation.








PEARL RIVER FAMILY FEST 2009
PEARL RIVER, LA: Saturday, May 16, 2009: Family Fest 2009 went off well.  Guests enjoyed live bands and vendor and craft booths.  There was a section dedicated to foods and kids enjoyed the ever popular water world.  St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 had the fire safety trailer out and spoke with many of the kids and parents about fire safety.  The fire chief even contributed to the cause by allowing himself to be dunked by guest in the dunking booth.  The festival ended with a spectacular fireworks show.
